MÜLLER-STEINAG SERVICES AG

Digital workflows with ELO as the foundation for construction projects

The MÜLLER-STEINAG Group is a leading Swiss construction and concrete company with over 20 subsidiaries and more than 1,200 employees at 18 locations. With business areas ranging from concrete products and water technology to recycling and natural building materials, the group has a lasting impact on the Swiss building materials market. In order to further strengthen efficiency, transparency, and cross-location collaboration, MÜLLER-STEINAG decided to consistently digitize its document and business processes.

The challenge

Paper-based, inconsistent processes and a lack of digital structures made cross-departmental and cross-location collaboration difficult. Invoices, delivery notes, and financial documents were distributed physically, approvals were time-consuming, and searching for documents was labor-intensive. There was no central document management system in place, and processes had to be redefined and standardized.

Solution

The introduction of the ELO ECM Suite created a central digital platform for all relevant documents. Together with Optive AG, MÜLLER-STEINAG implemented automated workflows, structured filing, and connections to existing ERP systems. The digital accounts payable workflow served as a starting point and was gradually expanded to other processes and companies within the group.
